Three yurts are built to provide a unique overnight experience.
For many years there was no additional room for beds at Jackson’s Mill. In 2019, through the generosity of the Hayhurst family, the Beulah Hayhurst Yurts were completed. There are three yurts and they are situated on a large wooden deck with a lighted walkway, which leads from the road to the main platform where the yurts are completed. All three are built with the exact same specifications. They are constructed of heavy-duty, all-weather vinyl, with wooden framing to support it. They are round in shape and contain windows and a main entry door. They have a domed-shaped roof with a tinted dome window on the top which can be raised slightly to help with airflow on hot days. There are combination heating and air conditioning systems in each one. They each have seven bunk beds, allowing each yurt to sleep 14 people comfortably. This added 42 new beds, a sizable addition to the capacity of groups staying at Jackson’s Mill, allowing us to continue to grow and develop new groups. On either side of the deck are a combination of bathrooms and shower facilities. There are three of each on each side, totaling six showers and bathrooms for the groups using the yurts. Wooden benches and table have also been constructed and are on the deck which allows this to be a classroom and group gathering space as well.
