1924

Fives acres are added to the Jackson's Mill property along with Harrison Cottage.

On March 7, 1924 the State Board of Control finalized the transfer of the five original acres from the Monongahela Securities Company. The development of Jackson’s Mill as it has developed in the years since, was well under way.

Completed in 1924 at a cost of $18,000, Harrison Cottage has three conference rooms. The Harrison County Court Commission and the 4-H members funded it. Harrison Cottage was remodeled in 1949, and improvements have been made in the last few years. This is a popular cottage because of its location halfway between the Assembly Hall and the Mount Vernon Dining Hall.
